Dance Places

Akalla By is a farm from around 1780, that was preserved when Järvafältet was explotied a few decades ago. Close to the buildings there is an open air dance floor, where occasionally dances are organized summer time. The place is easily reached from the underground, stop Akalla.

By car: Ignore the turn-off towards the centre. Turn left at the stop light. Then turn immediately left again, entering a local street. This will bend right when passing the church, and lead to the castle. Park behind the castle. The dance floor will be in sight from there.

By bus: Take any bus to Ekerö, leave the bus at Tappström. Walk past the centre until you reach the fire station. When you passed it, take the road to the right, to one of the entrances to the castle park. Follow the park path through the beuatiful forest down to the castle. The dance floor is located to the left of the castle.

Address: Källängsvägen 1, Lidingö

With car: When driving over the bridge to Lidingö, use the right lane. When leaving the bridge, turn right towards Elfvik, Bosön and to Norra Kungsvägen. Follow this road for about 2.5 km. Källängen's school is located to the left. Turn left onto Källlängsvägen and directly thereafter to the left to the parking and the playground.

Public services: Go with the underground to Ropsten. Take bus 203 from Ropsten towards Näset. Leave the bus at the bus stop Högnäsvägen.

You will find Morgongården's youth centre in Hökarängen by taking bus 182 for one stop. Alternatively walk from the underground station, pass the fire-station, and follow Måndagsvägen until you arrive at the small centre at Söndagsvägen.

With car:

E4 from the south: Leave the motorway at Rotebro. Turn right and then left at the traffic lights.

E4 from the north: Leave the motorway at Rotebro. Turn right and then left at the traffic lights. At the roundabout after 250 m turn to the left to Konsumentvägen (behind Coop Forum). Continue under the motorway and turn right onto Rotebrovägen.

After 400 m there is free parking at both sides of the road. If these are occupied turn left where there is parking with parking-fees. Walk to the left in front of the house with a sign with the text Ullmo.

Public services: Take the commuter train to Rotebro. Use the north exit, Turn left and cross the small square.

Polskedansarna eventually have their spring event at the society house at the Skarpnäck Allotment Gardens. This is a guide how to find it:

By car:

1. Use the by-road from Nynäsvägen towards Skogskyrkogården. (Right if you drive from Nynäshamn, left if you drive from Stockholm)
2. At the first main crossing, with traffic lights, turn onto the old Tyresö road (right)
3. Pass the residential district, when you see the allotment gardens on the field, turn right on Snårtäppevägen, follow the road to a large parking area. Leave the car there.
4. From the parking, follow the road into the allotmenat area to the society house. You will find an open-air dance floor and a grove with pines there.

By bus:

1. Take bus number 811 or 816 from Gullmarsplan, leave the bus at stop Skarpnäcks koloniområde
2. Continue in the same direction until you reach Snårtäppevägen. From there follow the instructions above.

From Katrineholm: road 57 through Sparreholm, continue beyond the kiosk about 150 m right side of the road. Pass the bridge. Directly beyond the bridge, turn right to the parking area.

From Nyköping: road 53 to the roundabout outside Sparreholm. There turn right onto road 57 through Sparreholm - see above.

From Eskilstuna, Strängnäs: Road 53, 55, pass Malmköping. After the second roundabout drive towards Nyköping on road 53 to the roundabout outside Sparreholm. Turn left on road 57 through Sparreholm – see above (Katrineholm).

From Södertälje – Gnesta: road 57 towards Sparreholm. Just before the bridge toward Sparreholm turn left to the parking area.

Address: Gråhundsvägen 82C, Sköndal

Public Services: Underground to Skarpnäck, continue with bus no 181. Alternatively take the bus from Gullmarsplan towards Tyresö, depart at Sandåkraskolan.

With car: From Nynäsvägen drive towards Tyresö, use the first exit towards Skarpnäck, drive under Tyresövägen, then turn right and then left again, park at Hemköp.

Träffstugan is located at the floor above Hemköp, use the entrance at the back.
