July 15, 2007
During our holidays in July 2007 we passed Bjuråker, and got the opportunity to visit the folk musician´s rally 2007 at Bjuråker.
Bjuråker's Forngård is beautifully situated, with several buildings scattered in a hilly landscape, and with good opportunities both for musicians and dancers.
The weather was, as mostly this month, varied. But despite some thunderstorms and rain showers earlier in the evening, the evening improved, with no more rain and - as bonus to the dancers - with a dry open-air dance-floor.
The dance lasted from 7 till 12 p.m., at two dance floors.
At the open-air floor the Delsbo Spelmän played, mainly gammaldans but also a few polskor. During the breaks other musicians played, mainly polskor.
A nice element of this evening was the parallel dance at the dance barn, with modern music played by Strike. The barn is not that big, but when we were there the space was sufficient for both swing dance and slow foxtrot.
After the dance we walked back along the road, at times with views over Dellen, lying there glassy and smooth as a millpond. We agreed on that it had been a nice experience to visit the folk music event at Bjuråker.
